A Writvember Update
There are 10 days left of Writvember and I have written only 11,000 words since the writing retreat finished (ᵕ—ᴗ—). It’s so strange how the human body and mind works. I went from writing 43,000 words in about 5 days to having only written 11,000 in the last two weeks. And I’ve been trying! Juggling…
Writvember Begins: Writing Blade’s Gauntlet
Dual Wielding: Blade’s Gauntlet When a pair of brothers find a small child in the snowy border of Blade City, they aren’t sure what the bigger mystery is: how did she get there or why does her face have no definition? As she grows, so does an innate desire to break the corrupted walls around…
2 Weeks into Preptober
I’m two weeks into Preptober and so far I’ve worked on outlining the novel (getting the skeleton down) and pulling together all of my character information. I have extensive worldbuilding for Dual Wielding that I’ve been working on since 2010 but I’ve just discovered that a lot of it has been scattered around because of…
Writing a Serial?
I will be writing a serial. Over the course of the wheel turn, I will be working on a serial. I’ve thought about starting a serial before but misunderstood what it was. That can account for a lot of my late starting projects … me simply misunderstanding that not everything has to be the first…
Preptober is Pumping ᕙ( •̀ ᗜ •́)ᕗ
The first thing that I’ve noticed since starting Preptober is that there is way more lore and plot development for Dual Wielding: Featherstorm than I thought. Though I have a lot of pride in how the lore of the world overall has been improved, I think my brain didn’t quite register just how much work…
Creating the Writing Blocks
Based on what I learned from Heart Breathing’s Preptober Video and from looking over the Rough Draft Challenge Workbook, I made simple “worksheets” to guide me through what I call “writing blocks”. Each “block” is a month and each set has four: Preptober, Writvember, Prepuary and Editary. I like to create and work to structures…
Preptober begins (و •̀ ᴗ•́ )و
Today marks the start of Preptober for Dual Wielding: Featherstorm! Timeline: Week 1, 1st—5th April: Planning Week Week 2, 6th—12th April: Power Week for Structure Week 3, 13th—19th April: Power Week for Characters Week 4, 20th—26th April: Power Week for Plot Week 5, 27th—30th April: Power Week for Research I’m using the basic Preptober guide…
Cycle 26’s Writing Project, Preptober Incoming
This April I will be entering my second Preptober using the writing blocks I developed from Heart Breathings’ Preptober video. Sarra is actually about to start another Rough Draft Challenge (she does them April, July and November). The way I’ve sorted my writing blocks means I’ll be doing Preptober in April and October, and then…
Editary Done: Rini & Butler V.6
As February closed, so did Editary! (੭˃ᴗ˂)੭ This is the conclusion of the first set of writing blocks since I started them back in last October. I began planning them in September, having the passion re-ignited after watching Heart Breathings’ video on planning for Preptober: How I Prepare To Write A Novel in 30 Days…
