I’ve been practicing trying to talk to people about my book, and have sent it solicited and unsolicited to some family members (with some of my little “marketing” tags tucked in). It feels so aggressive trying to promote it sometimes 😅

I even worry that I’m being bothersome when asking for feedback from people. It’s likely one of those anxiety things that probably won’t ever truly go away. I have to keep reminding myself that the point of having author platforms is to promote and share my writing, and then will still worry that I’m posting about Rini & Butler too much 🫣

I do believe some of the issue is me still finding my footing when it comes to creating good quality content for said platforms and knowing it might seem too one-note. Which is unavoidable as I learn (and I keep trying to tell myself as such!) but definitely something I’m thinking about. Doesn’t help that I love just making memes 😂

A friend has told me to be more obnoxious, that I’ve put in the work and it’s fine for me to tout it. I’m trying 😂 🥹 .

Chances are, for some of us, being “aggressive” or “assertive” is likely still fairly timid, because the bar for what we think is annoying is really low. These books are our passion, a major part of our beings. If people find your passion annoying 🤷
