Rini is one of the two central characters for my novel Rini & Butler, releasing October 2026.

Rini is about twelve-years-old and lives in the middle of a small mountain wedged into the side of an Australian city that’s forgot all about her … until she’s stealing from the local supermarkets.

Partial to a pie and often seen up in a tree or swinging scissors on her fingers, she’s grown fonder of the birds and cats than she has other humans. Living in the hollowed out bowel of a dead tree, she can almost pretend she’s not near the city at all.

Having left the shelter of the person who took her in not long after she hit the streets, she’s been trying to turn a new leaf over away from the fighting and punishments. And then a android follows her to her hollow home.
