The first drafts of Say Nope to the Trope (SNttT) Volume 1 are halfway done. Ideally, I ant all of them complete by the end of June but you know, life happens.

The first drafts won’t be released here (they’re far too embarrassing for that (ᵕ—ᴗ—)) but I will be releasing the first edits here before they’re further cleaned and published to Wattpad. I will publish the different versions here, experimenting with a changelog-type format of showing the development of my writing and exploring my editing process. SNttT is an experimental project after all.

Say Nope to the Trope, Volume 1

I’d read my fair share of isekais. It started with historical fantasy and snowballed into rom-coms that eventually led me to the whole “hit by a truck” genre. The problem with reading stories in the adjacent Venn circles is that you start to get sick of them after a while. A lot of them are re-skinned versions of the better stories but you read them to fill the need for drama and pretend you’re not getting the same tropes over and over again and you start questioning whether the story is dumb or you are. But I guess that could be said for all genres. The difference between those other genres and isekais right now is the fact I’ve woken up in the latter.
