I’m a pretty fast typer, but my current keyboard doesn’t have a numpad and apparently I lose all sense of direction when I need to put in a number. From the row just above all the keys that I can touch type on … literally right above them. And yet I have to stop and move my hands away from the keyboard … just to look for the right number. 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10.

The weather in Brisbane right now is quite teasing. Each day it's overcast with the promise of cosy sprinkle and then it grows hot and I wake the next morning to find that all the raining has occurred whilst I was asleep. Sometimes I wake up mid-sleep mad about it if I can hear it.

It feels as though I'm always tired these days. Drinking enough water? Still tired. Eating well? Still tired. Sleeping 8hrs? Still tired. Sleeping through the night? Still tired. I'm starting to think it's less to do with my body and more to do with my mind. And everyone around me also seems to be tired all of the time. Perhaps it's the state of being right now. A trend I'm not fond of.

I woke up one day to find that there was no one left. Just me and the birds. Well, the other animals were still about but it was the birds that began hanging around me first. Until I saw the silhouette of a person on the horizon. And the birds finally spoke. 'Run,' they said.

I spend a lot of time hovering over the timer button for my minute writing sessions. I try to prepare an idea before I start writing, otherwise I go in with nothing and so don't really write anything. I want them to be spontaneous but I need a bloom of something to turn it into a blossom. Otherwise it's just me writing the same thing over and over, haha.

A garden of roses calms me down, but it's an odd sort of calm. I love lavender. It's soothing and comforting. But there's something about the strong and prevalent fragrance of roses that puts my mind to rest. Or rather, it sends it on a journey. As if smelling roses is it's own experience entirely.

It doesn't matter how many times I've turned back the clock. No matter how many times I try to help those in the past to produce a better present. Unfortunately, it turns out: humans are just going to keep making the same mistakes. No matter how much I try to change the thought, everything is distorted and twisted over time and I keep waking back up in this dystopian nightmare.
