It is the new year. 2020 is here and there is nothing I can do about it, but I’m not worried and scared like when I went into 2019, I’m a lot calmer and a lot more hopeful for the year. I think it’s because I have more confidence than last year.

I’m going into my last year of this degree and I’m excited and nervous at the same time. Excited because I’ve made it this far but nervous because this year is going to be structured a lot differently than the previous two years.

I’m not really a “new year’s resolution” kind of person because I know my resolve for those kinds of things is really weak haha. I’m like to set that kind of stuff out as “goals”. I have a lot of things I want to do and accomplish throughout this next year, preparing and developing me for the years to come afterwards.

Graduate

I want to finish all of my units and graduate at the end of this year. I would also like to graduate with the nice GPA that I’ve been carrying through the first two years; although I imagine, realistically, it will drop before I reach the finish line. I want my siblings and partner to be at my graduation, and I would like to make them proud.

Work Well

I want to do well at my new job and hopefully receive another contract extension at the end of the year.

I’ve found a few novels that I’ve fallen in love with and they’ve reminded me how good it is to get lost in a book. I’m hoping that I can read a lot more this year than the past five. I want to read a combination of different genres, formats etc. But I think I’m going to prioritise novels I want to read, as forcing myself to try and read things hasn’t worked much for me in the past.

Little Personal Things

I want to finally get my full license. I’ve been putting it off for years but it’s getting to that point in my life where it would be a lot nicer to have one.

WRITE MORE

This is the biggest one. I want to remember how much I love writing, and apply that to ACTUALLY WRITING. I’ve been writing a lot more recently and I can feel my fingers tingling with the itch to write more, but I’m worried I might end up void again when semester starts. I’m going to work on different types of writing so that on the days I can’t bring myself to face my fiction, I can still be working on other projects.

Just Be Happy

I’ve learnt a lot about being happy in 2019, so much so that it was kind of worrying that I had such a learning experience about it. More than my professional goals, I want to make sure I’m still healthy and happy by the time 2020 comes to a close.

Semester starts in February! Until then, I want to work hard on doing what I need/want to. This includes my WordPress sites so I hope they flourish from here.
