This project is almost seven/eight years in the making. When they say that a book might take a decade to write, they mean it. Some people can turn them around in a year or two these days but my projects come in burning that simmer out and string themselves in hot flashes across the years.

Right now, Rini & Butler is undergoing “Editary”, a smash editing phase in February that I made up, inspired by a video from Heart Breathings (Sarra Cannon) on her Preptober preparation (more on this later lest I start going off on tangents). This is the sixth restructure and edit and it has been exhilarating. Sometimes when you leave a work for a while and grow as a person, the dam of ideas just bursts, making another edit a surfing journey rather than a drowning one.

Rini & Butler is honestly the work that I hold dearest to me. I have read and written it over and over and adore both Rini and Butler. Though I cannot say for certain this is the “last” re-write, I am proud of the iteration I am stacking together.
