Today, my day starts about now. I woke up later than normal, getting out of bed around 8:30, and then I started cleaning, the new printer and whiteboard arrived, and then I got hungry so I started baking and then I sat down and realised I haven’t done most of my usual morning routine and it’s almost 11am.
I have some work to do today, although I’m not sure how many hours considering I did almost double I would ordinarily do on Tuesday. I think that’s also why it feels a bit like the weekend now even though it’s only the middle of my work week. It’s on days like these when I really feel the bindings of time, but also realise that it’s all a pleasant measurement we’ve made up to make sense of some things.
Sometimes, because we can see it’s measured, I really feel it slipping through my fingers, and so I’m trying to remind myself to spend less time worrying about things that I could just be doing instead. Tick tock, says the clock.
My body is a bit worse for wear at the moment, and so I’m trying to take it a bit easy whilst trying to make sure I’m stretching and moving about. Manual labour and desk labour have their own wear and tear on our bodies, and I need to get back on top of that.
