I was away for a whole month, but I’m back now. Which is better than the last time I took a break when I first started this blog. I knew I would be coming back, I just needed to make sure I was ready. It feels nice to be returning to blogging, because I often have issues committing to things, and so I’m glad I’ve managed not to abandon this blog as well.
During April, I’ve had some ups and downs. That second job fell through and I’ve been scrambling ever since to find another, which has been stressful. I’ve moved into my new place and can only just afford to live there, but I’m lucky to have a lot of supportive people around me, so I can’t complain too much. Though I am earning the least I have in years, I’m still technically in a better financial position than I once was before I moved out of home. That might sound confusing to some of you, but I’ve got a complicated background that I’ll pull apart and explain in one solid piece one day.
I’m excited for May. A fresh start in a new place (and a whole lot of putting together new furniture). It’s thrilling to now have our place. Just me, my partner and my little shadow that purrs. Hopefully, I’ll be able to finally snag something to get back to earning enough that I’m saving for the future. I have a lot of things that I need to replace for myself as well. I forgot how hard it was to get my first job when I moved to the city, and now I actually have a full resume, it’s extra discouraging when I get rejected from places that I’m overqualified for. It’s that ugly spot where I have more than I need for most places but less than I need for the more ‘professional’ places. Sometimes I tell myself that those retail jobs are rejecting me because I have qualifications that might lead me somewhere else suddenly … it helps me feel less bad about having so much experience and a degree and getting knocked back, haha … ha.
April was mostly fretting about the move, but I have been returning order to my life and have been doing some writing, which I will probably update in another post. There’s quite a lot going on (as always) and if I mention it here, it becomes a three-page wrap up.
I’m happier, arguably healthier (tis the season of cluster headaches), and am charging up my drive for the second half of this year.
