March is half done. There has been a Covid case at the nearest hospital to me and so I’m waiting to see whether or not that becomes an issue, but other than that, it seems like Brisbane is starting to settle back down into “normality” … whatever that was.
I’ve started writing some Dungeons and Dragons notes long-hand recently, and want to practice them a little to improve my “live story-telling”, as it’s two very different things to write something and read it aloud. I just want to add a bit more fun and flesh to the campaign now we’re starting it up again.
As for my “actual writing”, I haven’t done a whole heap but have mostly had a thoughtful week, trying to think about where my writing fits, where my style fits and what I want to try my hand at. I’ve been thinking about trying something that’s for younger audiences, but I can’t really think of anything that I would like to write and that I’d imagine they would love to read. I used to write children’s tales when I first start writing, but I was about twelve and so it wasn’t hard to write for other kids. I might try and work on something for either the remainder of the month (just the brainstorming and scribbling phase) or try and set a target for May or June (when I’m not in the midst of moving). That can be a small project I have on the side for now.
