A lot, including work and myself, although I think we do that every year. Always working on ourselves and trying to continue on with what our passions are. This year, in particular, I’m hoping will see big changes in my professional development and the preparation before I return to university in 2022.

Writing

I want to put a lot more effort into editing and refining the projects that have a first draft. I’ve been talking about this for the past couple of months and now is the time to finally get the ball rolling. I also want to re-focus on writing opportunities like I had been at the end of 2019. I just need to believe in myself a bit more and put myself out there.

X, TAS, X, The Scarlet Cloak … those will be my major work focuses. I think I want to try and write a lot of short stories, and I’ll polish the few I already have, including my assessment tasks. I think I’ve definitely gotten better at writing short stories, but I still have a long way to go.

Reading

Build a list of the books I own, divide them by whether I’ve read them or not and then read THE ONES THAT ARE PILING DUST. I am not allowed to buy any more books until I’ve finished reading at least half of the books I have that I haven’t read. I also want to be writing reviews on them to put up on websites and my blog. I’ll probably start with smaller reviews at first, because it really is a skill that I’ll need to develop properly.

Self

I’ll be working on my health and home. I want to get healthier in mind, body and soul and I want to be in a better home space. Simple, right?

Professional Development

Looking at building new skills, maybe taking some short courses, and ultimately getting more experience that will help me with my career pathway. I’m not entirely sure what I’ll specifically be doing for this, but I’ve got a good enough idea. I’m just sort of looking at the best way to go about it in terms of paying for actual courses and the price range.

I’m also still looking for another job. The market wants graphic designers, teachers and social workers at the moment. I’ve applied for a few but it’s been difficult trying to find something I meet the requirements for, is within reach and something I wouldn’t mind doing (of course this will gradually change as I get more desperate.
