Oh my, it’s August.

Half of the year is indeed over and yet it still feels like March. In four months we’ll be welcoming (maybe) the year of 2021. This year is flying by and I needed to quickly catch a hold of the time remaining.

It’s that time of the semester where I need to get a start on my first wave of assessment that will start being due in week four. I have a lot of work to do compared to last semester and I want to make sure that I do well at my internship.

Sometimes I really don’t see how much I stray from my original objectives until I do a reassessment of my projects and compile all of my to-dos into one. I start so many things at once and am quick to forget many of them along the way, only being reminded if I happen to stumble across them. Like TAS and The Doll for example. I spent the early months of this year working on them and then forgot they existed until I started labelling and re-sorting my writing files. It’s a little crazy that I can be so caught up in creating something and then I just forget about it.

Currently, my targets for the week are at:

  • 3,902 / 5,000 for “Personal Writing”
  • 1,715 / 2,500 for “Professional Writing”

Next week, I will have fewer work hours and hopefully a better state of mind and less fatigue. My uni work will be increasing and I need to make sure I start balancing everything properly, taking the appropriate time I need for myself.

I had a study session with my siblings again today and it really is motivating to be engaged with people doing productive work. I think I’ll keep it up, although it seems that we might be moving our DND sessions over to Sundays so I guess I’ll see what happens.

That’s my Writing Reflection for the week starting the 27th July 2020.
