I haven’t hit my targets for this week but it’s pretty late and there’s an evacuation siren going off in the distance so I don’t really have the focus anymore. I have been doing quite a bit more work on paper and so I’m going to give myself a half of the benefit of the doubt. But, I really should be churning out more words. I did go out a lot more this week because restrictions have eased and so I’ve been trying to get a lot of non-essential shopping done so I don’t have to leave the house again in case there’s a second wave with the way people are suddenly so relaxed about it.
So, I’ve decided not to do a Focus Project for this month and to start it in June. For May, I’m going to focus on getting back on track. There’s a lot of work that’s been building up and instead of trying to throw something else on the pile, I want to try and deal with all of that before I move onto it. I’m pretty sure I have the project I want to do for June but that might still change because of the kind of person I am.
I’ve been reading more but not a whole lot, most of it being research for the Letter to the Editor I finished writing and submitted on Friday for one of my assignments. I have quite a few things going on at the moment and I’m just trying to coordinate appropriately to try and get them all done efficiently and sooner rather than later.
Currently, my targets for the week are at:
- 7,056 / 10,000 for “Personal Writing”
- 1,743 / 5,000 for “Professional Writing”
This reflection is going to be fairly brief because I don’t have much to reflect on from this week except that I’m excited about the new case file system I’m starting to develop to help manage my projects easier. I’ve also been trying to go back through the writing notes that I have to reclaim lost ideas and have found a few that I’m keen to start up.
I hope everyone else is having more productive days than I am. And I hope I can try and pick the pace back up. I think I need some caffeine.
That’s my Writing Reflection for the week starting the 4th May 2020.
