This week definitely went better than the last but I definitely had some days where I hardly got anything done. I’ve been working on three different projects as well as an assignment (Letter to the Editor) and have actually finished one of my projects (not the one I really should have but one of the ones that were indeed due).
So, I was working on The Demon’s Secretary, The Doll and Rose in the Woods. Rose in the Woods is done. I finished writing it (the first draft) and it is considered a success of my new monthly focus writing. Yay! I celebrate this even though The Doll was supposed to be finished back in either February or March. Small wins. My next focus project (meant to be for May) is to be The Pirate and the Clumsy Mage unless I decide otherwise. I’ll put more information up about that either by the time of the next reflection or in it.
Currently, my targets for the week are at:
- 9,360 / 10,000 for “Personal Writing”
- 1,975 / 5,000 for “Professional Writing”
I’ve been doing DND planning for a one-shot I hope to run in a fortnight and don’t record that writing but I swear I haven’t been completely unproductive. I’m excited about this but don’t want to reveal much about it just yet and it will probably go onto my DND blog.
This week started out kinda bad because I was stressed out about assignments and deadlines and things but it came good about halfway through, although I definitely have lost some of my writing productivity in the past few weeks. It isn’t entirely lost productivity though because I am putting some of it into other things. I’ve been exercising and drawing and trying to look at potential other projects as well as working on assignments.
I’ve been finding that I’m often just kind of vacant and I think it’s because of the circumstances of the world. I just kind of sit in my chair and stare at one of the screens without really doing anything.
Anywho, I’m starting to pick my rhythm up and hopefully it’s just on the rise from now on. I have plans for what I want to do with my time in terms of hobbies, but I’m just awaiting the arrival of equipment for those hobbies. I should give origami another shot in the meantime.
Left! Write! Left! Write!
That’s my Writing Reflection for the week starting the 27th April 2020.
