My fourteenth birthday party is the easiest to describe because there wasn’t one. The only times I had some semblance of a party was from ages 1-6, then 11, then 13, and then 18-21. 1-6 was thrown by mother. 11 was thrown by my father. 13 was thrown by my uncle and 18-22 were thrown by my elder sister. 6 had a pinata birthday cake. 11 was at a bowling alley. 13 was at home with close friends. 18-22 were at home/out to dinner with close family.

On my fourteenth birthday, I’d just changed schools and struggled making friends, and so I just spent it at home with my brother and sister, and maybe my mother. I don’t remember if she was home at the time.

It’s more of a lack of setting that an actual setting, really. But I didn’t know what to do with all of the prompts I had.
