I sometimes imagine a boat coming to my window to take me away. It sails on dreams and is lit with hope, set on a destination away from this house. It will be a ship so large it will awe all those worthy to see it and it will be adorned in soft blankets and lights all over the masts and railings. It will be warm and the gentle creaking, as it sails away, will lull me to a sleep I won’t fear. The wood will be gentle but the toughest shield. There shall be room for everyone else who deserves to board it. It will shimmer under the stars, as though it was painted using the night sky as its pallet. It will also have candles of which cause a gentle flicker as it moves. It’s the perfect ship for a dream getaway. A ship that will sail up into the clouds to take us to a different world that is softer, gentler. And it will do so gladly, asking nothing more than that we respect it. No toll, no captain to serve and no threat of the plank. The kindest vessel to have ever been created.
